Hello my friends! Thanks for taking the time to read this blog post. In fact, this is my very first blog post on the website and I’m elated to say the least!
Ok, let’s get down to brass tacks here…what is all this EFT aka “tapping” nonsense? Are you telling me that tapping on your face and reciting statements is somehow powerful” or “life-changing”? Seems like woo woo hogwash to me!
Haha! I get it! When you see EFT in action for the first time, it seems quite silly to say the least. I was very skeptical the first time I heard of such a thing. In fact, the very first time I heard about EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) aka “Tapping” was from my mother. She had read about it and was attempting to explain it to me. I was open to listening but quickly brushed it off as nothing vital or important. A couple years later as I was exploring my own personal development journey with significant success, I came across this tapping stuff once again. Specifically, Dr. Bruce Lipton Ph.D., an internationally recognized stem cell biologist and leader in bridging science and spirituality, mentioned the power of EFT for changing the programming of the subconscious mind. He called it “Super Learning” and EFT was one of the many practices he recommended for transforming the mind. I figured I’d investigate it a bit further. I quickly found Nick & Jessica Ortner from The Tapping Solution. I watched Nick’s documentary about EFT and was intrigued by the success of the individuals depicted within the film. However, healthy skepticism inside of me was still on full alert. Up to that point my brain just couldn’t make sense of it. I purchased Nick’s book and dove right in. I even tried tapping for the first time which felt odd and foreign. I noticed quite a bit of mental resistance in getting myself to do something that appeared so silly. Obviously, I was fighting against my own mind which had preconceived judgments about EFT. However, after dedicating a few days each week to tapping I noticed some unusual “shifts”. It wasn’t anything spectacular at first, but I felt a calmness and grounding affect every time I tapped. This calm grounding affect typically carried on throughout the rest of my day. So, I kept going. If anything, I figured it was a good stress relief technique. It wasn’t until a couple months later when I invested in an EFT course taught by the Ortner’s that I really had my mind blown! Specifically, I was able to eliminate and collapse anxiety and deeply seated beliefs I had around money and finances. It was quite amazing and noticeable to say the least. Not to mention the changes I experienced were permanent even to this day (several years later). In fact, my mindset around finances has completely changed which has allowed me to open myself up to more opportunity, creating more abundance and aligning with increased earning power! I was hooked to say the least and the rest was history. I have been practicing EFT daily for several years now and have experienced tremendous success in all areas of my life! That is why I am a certified EFT practitioner and sharing the power of this practice with others
What exactly is EFT? EFT is an acronym for Emotional Freedom Technique. The easiest way to wrap your head around this practice is to imagine it as psychological acupuncture. EFT is a coalescing of Chinese acupuncture, neuroplasticity, and modern psychology. It’s like the three practices came together and had a baby! The breakdown of the practice is as follows.
We are adopting the cognitive and behavioral aspects of psychology (using the emotions and words that we speak while tapping).
We stimulate the acupuncture meridian endpoints along the body (stimulation via “tapping” or “touching”).
We utilize the power of neuroplasticity via neuroclusters located at the meridian endpoints all while emotion is being injected into the physiology of the body causing change and transformation.
That is essentially EFT in a nutshell. The short and sweet of it is this…. you bring up a problem or issue. You emotionally expose yourself to that issue via statements and phrases while simultaneously tapping different meridian endpoints in succession. This gets the attention of the brain and sends a calming signal to the amygdala. In addition, the hippocampus is being accessed. This is where memories are stored. The tapping deactivates the stress response tied to the problem at hand and re-writes new patterns in the brain. There is a complete physiological cascade of events that is happening while you tap and the results are simply amazing! As silly as it appears, it truly is the power of the human mind, body, and spirit at work! All I can say is TRY IT OUT!
Why should I care about this? Great question! Do you care about improving your life? How about letting go of old painful memories that are potentially holding you back? Do you have trauma that keeps you stuck? Can you use some self-improvement in your life? Do you ever feel stressed? The list goes on and on. The idea that this is a simple practice that can be utilized by anyone in a short amount of time with very little training is the very reason why EVERYONE should be doing this. Imagine using this simple practice to alleviate pain, de-activate stress, or to release ruminating thought patterns or collapse PTSD. Anyone and everyone can do it and the beauty is… it will work even if you do not believe it will. That’s powerful!
You may ask… is there a reason to ever work with an EFT coach? Yes, in some cases there is. Why is that? If it is so simple and anyone can do it, then why do you need a coach? Well, for one, the subconscious mind is clever at disguising certain issues that lie quietly in the recesses of the unconscious mind. Meaning you can have behaviors, stress, trauma, and beliefs that are completely hidden from you and causing you to behave in certain ways that you are completely unaware of. Sometimes you feel stuck and just can’t figure out why. Even if you spend time tapping on issues yourself, there is a good chance you are not getting to the deeply seated core issues that keep you stuck within certain behaviors and beliefs. Some issues are very multi-faceted. In that case, working with a certified practitioner can mean progress and healing! For one, most practitioners are very well versed in EFT and bring a strong sense of intuition to their practice. They can help pick up on subtle cues from your body language and communication style that you are completely unaware of. The subconscious mind is good at hiding things from you. But the clues typically show themselves in many ways, and a trained professional can help flush those issues out. A secondary perspective is very powerful when working through EFT and a qualified coach will provide that! The beauty of this is that you can literally change your life over night with a minimum investment that would otherwise take years to accomplish with traditional talk therapy. Start tapping now and you will see the results. You will surely make much progress on your own, but feel free to rope in an EFT coach if and when needed. Otherwise, make it a daily habit and start creating greatness in your life each and every day! EFT is my go-to practice. I love it and you will too! Thank you for reading. Have a great day!
